This is basically the LS-254C model, but in a stronger version. The leg segments are thicker, which naturally allows a higher load capacity with the same maximum working height of 1,270 mm (without ball head and center column). The Ranger LS-284C brings it up to 10 kg - and that with only 180 g more weight, which here is 1,420 g. The pack size of just 530 mm is also inexpensive. Designed for strength with great lightness, the Leofoto Ranger LS-284C carbon tripod is a reliable companion, especially on photo hikes with a longer lens. The scope of delivery includes a Leofoto LH-30 ball head (308 g), a screw-on center column, a multi-tool and a set of stainless steel spikes. Well stored, everything comes together in a practical transport bag.

Quasi the nature of the compact and light Leofoto Ranger tripods is nature. On days of photo stalking, every gram and every millimeter counts in order to minimize the volume and weight of the luggage. However, all equipment must not only save space and weight, but also meet very high requirements. Stability under all circumstances, that is the aim. The material, carbon, ensures the required lightness. Its stability and freedom from vibration "grows" with the number of layers it has. Apart from the Traveler tripod series and the monopod tripods, Leofoto tripods are made of ten-layer carbon. The deliberately modular design of all Leofoto Ranger series tripods - center column not built-in, but only to be attached when necessary - makes it possible to carry luggage down to the bare minimum to restrict.
With their small diameters, the head plates of the Ranger series are also subordinate to the space-saving concept. And because they are CNC-milled from strong aircraft aluminum, they fit perfectly. The head plate screw each has a 3/8 “thread. The tripod legs - each made up of three to five leg elements, depending on the model - glide smoothly and twist-proof. They are fixed by screw fasteners that are easy to grip and rubberized. The rubber feet absorb unwanted vibrations. If necessary, they can be exchanged for the supplied stainless steel spikes or optional snow and sand feet.

All carbon tripods in the Ranger series are designed for lightness. For this reason, they come without a built-in center column. But you don't have to do without it. Because it is included in the set - also with the Ranger LS-284C - and can be screwed on. Every photographer decides for himself whether he prefers to equip his luggage with or without a center column. It increases the working height up to 1,585 mm. The Ranger LS-284C can also flatten itself out completely. The minimal working height of only 145 mm may require a little bit of ground acrobatics from photographers, but it is extremely cheap for macro shots of small things and floor organisms or even pictures from a frog's perspective. The sturdy tripod legs, each made up of four smoothly sliding segments, have a diameter of 28, 25, 22 and 19 mm.
