Ideal for orchestral recording and live stage applications, the matte black Neumann KM 184 MT Octo Set features eight KM 184 MT small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones, each with a foam windscreen, a stand adapter, and a mic pouch. The KM 184 MT offers premium Neumann sound that's both open and musical without imparting its own sonic signature, making it a popular choice for solo instruments and ensembles where microphone transparency is a top priority.
The transformerless circuitry and balanced output result in high-output gain with an ultralow noise floor. The mic's uniform cardioid polar pattern provides a targeted pickup area with no off-axis coloration while handling SPLs up to 138 dB, allowing confident close-miking of instruments. As with true condenser mics, the KM 184 is powered via +48V phantom power.

KM 100-Based Output Stage
The KM 184 features the same output stage electronics as the KM 100. Transformerless circuitry and quiet balanced output design ensure a clean, high-gain output signal without any coloration. The KM 184 is powered via +48V phantom power, and its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response provides flexibility for use in a wide range of recording situations. The KM 184 can handle sound-pressure levels up to 138 dB, allowing fairly close miking of instruments.
