From it's exquisitely comfortable harness system, to it's big, beautiful access points, to its totally customizable internal and external organization, the PD Outdoor Backpack 45L incorporates a ton of innovative features that just work, so you can spend more time enjoying the outdoors and less time wrestling with your gear. Designed to work with Peak Design's wide array of Packing Tools*, which let you dial in your protection and organization for any combination of clothes, provisions, camping gear, sport equipment, and camera gear—from a single camera/lens up to a full professional creative setup.

A uniquely versatile and low-profile harness and adjustment system gives maximum comfort to the most inclusive range of body types of any bag on the market. Vest-style straps take load off your arms and shoulders and distribute it across more of your body while also providing ideal quick-access storage and Capture Camera Clip* attachment points. A removable, stowable, hyper-adjustable padded Hip Belt provides additional support, storage and Capture Clip* attachment points. This bag is highly abrasion-resistant and functionally weatherproof thanks to it's Terra Shell™ 210D ripstop nylon fabric which is 100% recycled, Bluesign approved, and PFAS-free. An optional Rain Fly* provides full waterproof protection.

Other unique features include the proprietary Ultra Cinch™ roll-top access point for easy packing and unpacking, that allows lightning-fast 1-handed access and 10.5L of expansion. A huge rear access panel makes packing a breeze and also provides an ideal format for outdoor camera carry using Peak Design Camera Cubes* which securely clip inside the bag. 5 massive external Flex Pockets™ provide quick-access storage for large items (water bottles, hiking poles, jackets, tripods) yet always maintain a clean profile, never looking floppy or discheveled. Cord Hook™ external Carry Cords and elastic Gear Loops provide endless options for strapping things to the outside of your pack, and Cord Rails™ provide 360-degree attachment points. Your Adventure Camera Bag

Throw in a Peak Design Camera Cube and instantly convert the Outdoor Backpack into the most capable adventure photo bag on the planet. Mounting loops inside the bag let you anchor Camera Cubes in place, and the huge rear hatch provides total visibility and access. Fits up to a Lg. cube with bonus space.

A Peak designer takes a deeper dive into the unique features of the 25L Outdoor Backpack.

Access

Roll-top design allows fast, one-handed access to the main volume and offers 5L of expansion. A massive rear panel unzips to to reveal the full interior of the bag.

Comfort

Padded vest-style straps, quick-adjusting sternum straps, and a hyper-adjustable padded Hip Belt (sold separately) offer a precise fit and distribute weight evenly. Back panel and shoulder straps include breathable, quick-drying perforated foam padding.

Ultra-Cinch™

The Ultra Cinch™ roll-top is designed to open and and close the bag quickly, with just one hand. Can also be used to cinch items to the top of the bag.

External Carry

3 massive Flex Pockets™ provide expandable, quick-access storage with room for long or bulky items, while a Center Flex Pocket™ doubles as an auxiliary hydration sleeve. Cord Hook™ External Carry Cords (2x), Cord Hook™ elastic Gear Loops (2x), and Hidden Cord Rails™ can be used to lash items to to the exterior, including Ultralight Packing Cubes (sold separately). 2 zip pockets organize small items.
