For smooth single-operator camera moves, crab or standard steering, and smooth 16" in-shot height adjustment, the Vinten Osprey Plus Pedestal System with Integrated Manual Pump is your go-to camera support for cameras and rigs weighing up to 154 lb. Suitable for use on smooth surfaces and the studio floor, the pedestal can be used as support on interiors. With its integrated manual pump, you don't need an external pump or tank.

Grab the integrated steering ring to move the pedestal from position to position for rapid camera placement and change the height throughout 16.1" of smooth vertical adjustment for in-shot camera moves. The pedestal supports standard steering and has built-in track locks. The included Quickfix system allows you to rapidly mount/unmount compatible heads The air inlet valve allows you to use an external pump, and the integrated pressure gauge lets you see the pressure remaining at a glance. The pedestal dolly has 5" wheels and cable guards to help prevent you from rolling over a cable ruining the shot, removable for easier transport and storage.

Perfect Balance Stage

Featuring a Perfect Balance stage, you can smoothly adjust the height of the pedestal through a 16.1" range while shooting without stops or bumps when adjusting the height. This allows the operator to create vertical camera movement without distracting the audience or to move from a seated to a standing position without jarring the camera.

Steering

The Osprey Plus and its included pedestal dolly support both standard steering track locks for free camera movement and positioning.

Wheels and Cable Guards

The 5" wheels with integrated cable guards help provide smooth camera moves while the cable guards help prevent you from rolling over unattended cables, which can lead to jarring camera moves, needing to rebalance your camera setup, or damaged cables and gear.

Air Pressure

In addition to the integrated manual pump, the Osprey Plus has an air inlet valve that lets you use optional pumps or a compressed air cylinder (not included) to replenish the pedestal's pressure.

The VISION 250 pan & tilt head is designed to support the latest portable digital camera combinations used in Studio and Outside Broadcast production. With its unique "twin balancing mechanism" the Vision 250 can be fully adjusted to perfectly balance any camera or lens combination quickly and easily up to 72.8 lb. Incorporating a drag mechanism employing non-contacting thin film technology, which ensures consistent drag and constant performance over a temperature range from -40°F to +140°F. TF drag enables the camera operator to move the camera in a "seamless path" when moving from a critical tight lens image on a delicate slow pan movement - into a "whip-pan" action. Ensuring instant recovery to the original drag setting without the need to adjust the drag control position.
In addition, the Vision 250 also has the benefit of digital counterbalance readout, backlit drag controls and an illuminated leveling bubble, giving the cameraman the quickest and most simple set-up, even in "low light" situations.

Perfect Balance

The Vision 250 pan & tilt head achieves the Perfect Counter Balance by means of an innovative and patented infinitely-variable spring mechanism. This allows the head to tilt through the full range of ±90° in perfect balance, eliminating a considerable amount of physical effort required by the operator to control the tilting action. Since the camera is perfectly balanced, it can be left at any angle - totally hands free - without having to lock the tilt brake. The variable counterbalance mechanism allows it to be used with a variety of lenses, batteries, viewfinders and on-camera lights.

For even faster setup, the Vision 250 offers a digital counterbalance readout, with repeatable balance setting. The display is activated by a simple press of a button and remains visible for 15 seconds.

TF (Thin Film) Drag Control

The Vision 250 uses the Vinten TF (Thin Film) damping system, to provide consistent drag and constant performance in demanding conditions from -40°F to +140°F. The TF system offers total control, for precise movement and excellent camera control during the critical slow start-up of your shot. Providing seamless transition into Whip Pan and instant recovery to the original drag setting at the finish of the movement.
Calibrated with variable adjustment and a single turn rotation from fully On to Off, the drag knobs are backlit and are adjusted accordingly (depending on the lighting conditions) by a light sensor built into the digital readout. For easy viewing and detented to give a "dial-in feel", ensuring that settings are always maintained.

Interlock Device

The interlock device is a positive latching, which overrides the tilt brake to insure that the payload doesn't move in its fixed position. So as not to wear out the tilt brake prematurely, due to larger payloads that it takes.

Quick Setup

Unique design features allow fast setup - a must if you are continuously on the move. The leveling bowl has a double threaded screw shank, which allows the bowl lock to be tightened and released quickly. Very handy when you are constantly adjusting the bowl to level the camera (especially on uneven terrain).
