Continuing to provide the latest digital cinema advances, the V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV Camera pairs the strengths of the RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR line with the global shutter of the KOMODO camera and a native Nikon Z mount offering adjustable AF speeds, fluid iris control, and customizable lens responses.

Optimal 8K Resolution Performance

The powerful, all-purpose V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount incorporates 8K resolution, crisp global shutter, optimal low-light performance, and high frame rate functions in a compact, feature-rich body weighing just over 4 lb.

New Large-Format Standard

This DSMC3 flagship camera is the first large-format global shutter camera and the first to offer RED's Global Vision with a suite of tools that provide unprecedented flexibility and dynamic range. Key features shared with the original V-RAPTOR include a single CFexpress Type B card slot that supports up to 8K120 capture and two unique 12G-SDI monitoring outputs. The V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount also features a redesigned sensor cavity that mitigates stray light and improves contrast, plus improved in-camera audio preamps.

Advanced, Intelligent Focus

In-camera processing and on-sensor, enhanced phase-detection autofocus plus all-new face detection enables the V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount to offer versatility and confidence to all levels of filmmakers.

Nikon Z Lens Mount

The V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount's reinforced, locking Nikon Z lens mount has advanced iris, autofocus, and lens response capabilities.
It offers toolless switching to additional RED mounts and compatibility with third-party adapters for a wide range of lenses. Use the V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount with the RED Z to PL adapter for compatibility with upcoming /i PL lenses.

Dynamic Range

The 17+ stops of dynamic range in standard modes and up to 20+ with Extended Highlights enable the V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount to deliver both smooth highlight roll-off and uncompromising low-light performance.

Phantom Track

The Phantom Track function streamlines any virtual production workflow using GhostFrame or frame remapping, capturing distinct R3D clips for each subframe slice in addition to enabling monitoring of either slice live on set over each SDI output. This enables your director and talent to work with a green screen background while the VF/X team can simultaneously view the frame without having to view or lock in that background. Phantom Track can also be used when applying dedicated ad overlays during a live broadcast.

Up to 8K at 120 fps

Unmatched frame-rate performance enables V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount users to leverage creative elements like time-lapse or speed ramping or to extract ultrasharp still photos. Frame rate options include 8K, 6K, 4K, and 2K selections.

Global Shutter

This camera's large-format global shutter accurately captures your subject's motion, no matter how fast they're moving, with no distortion or Jello-like effects sometimes found with a rolling shutter. With the global shutter, you can capture every movement, flash, and burst without compromising image quality, dynamic range, or flexibility in post-production.

RED Global Vision

RED's Global Vision suite of tools uses the global shutter sensor to offer even greater flexibility and ease of use throughout your production process. These tools include Extended Highlights for increasing detail, producing finer HDR finishes or softer, more subtle highlight roll-offs when using SDR. Extended Highlights also offers 3+ stops of additional dynamic range, maintaining color and detail even within extreme highlights.

Built-In Control Display

The integrated side display provides intuitive, easily navigable, comprehensive control, including in-camera format selections, customized buttons, and more.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA 2TB PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card

Certified for RED V-RAPTOR and KOMODO-X camera systems, the 2TB PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card from RED offers protection from overheating, operates with a reduced power draw, and helps to ensure high bitrate capture. This card can capture all frame rates and resolutions, including Full HD and raw 4K, 6K, 8K, and 12K video. It features a capacity of 2TB and uses the PCIe 3.0 x2 bus to deliver maximum read/write speeds of 1785 MB/s.

Durable Angelbird Build

Designed and manufactured by Angelbird for RED, the PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B series has been engineered with protection against shock, dust, water, temperature extremes, and x-rays, and has an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) rating of 2.4 million hours. Included is lifetime data protection and an activation code for the full limited 3-year warranty. To receive the full limited warranty, the product needs to be registered on the Angelbird Personal Service Portal within 30 days after purchase. If not registered within this period, the market-specific legal guarantee period comes into force.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD with Rigid Hinge

Add a direct-mount onboard monitor to your DSMC3 camera rig with the DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor with Rigid Hinge from RED DIGITAL CINEMA. The RED Touch features daylight viewing, a wide 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and touchscreen control for DSMC3 cameras, such as the V-RAPTOR 8K VV. The rigid hinge and arm enable you to apply more pressure for positioning the Touch for optimal viewing. The Touch monitor features 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 1250:1 contrast ratio, and 1300 cd/m² brightness for high-quality imaging.

This monitor attaches directly to your DSMC3 BRAIN using its Pogo mount, which provides video, data, and power to the monitor from the camera. If you need to use the Pogo mount for another accessory, the monitor also features a locking USB-C connector that alternately allows you to pass video, data, and power to the camera. Note that the DSMC3 Touch monitor is not compatible with DSMC, DSMC2, RED RANGER, or KOMODO camera systems.

Use the V-RAPTOR Wing Grip from RED DIGITAL CINEMA to create a low-profile, handheld support option for your camera. This aluminum handle's ergonomic design features both 1/4"-20 and anti-twist 3/8"-16 threads for attaching accessories. The V-RAPTOR Wing Grip can be used on either side of your camera.
